Our twin town in Germany
Thanks to contacts made through the Horsham Twinning Association, school exchanges with Lage Gymnasium (grammar school) first started 28 years ago and have continued ever since.

Exploratory talks were held in Lage when two teachers from Millais and two from the Forest School joined the Twinning Association visit of July 1992, travelling by coach along with the Sussex Pipe Band, which greatly enlivened the journey.
The first school exchange took place in October that same year when a mixed group of girls from Millais and boys from the Forest School filled a 52-seater coach.
There have been numerous successful school exchanges since then and many tears have been shed
on both sides of the Channel when waving goodbye to the departing group.
The participants in these exchanges have all benefited from more exposure to the language they were learning and gained an insight into the life and culture of a different country by staying with their exchange partner's family and attending school with them. They have also enjoyed many outings to local places of interest such as museums, castles, the impressive Hermannsdenkmal, a bird of prey centre, and ever-popular shopping centres. Most importantly, many life-long friendships have been formed.
